Request for In-kind or Services Donations
We are collecting donations-in-kind: If you have any spare clothing, furniture, or household appliances; if you have any skills you would like to contribute (e.g. medical, dental, etc.); or if you would be willing to offer your time to help with various preparation and settlement tasks, please click here and fill in the form.
A sub-committee member will then be in touch with you to discuss details such as pick-up/drop-off and other logistics.
Some In-Kind donations and services required include:
- Finding and furnishing an apartment
- Meeting the family at the airport/welcoming the family in their temporary housing
- Translators
- Clothing
- Registering for all government documents: OHIP and SIC
- Organizing medical services: health, dental, eyes
- Arranging banking, telephone and internet services
- Registering the family for language classes, school for children.
- Assisting with employment for adults
- Arranging for social workers/psychological services if needed
- Keeping up friendly support and contact
